The lesson just learned but in a hard way by the terrorists in Yemen- It’s always a bad idea, taking on American special operations. By the time they may realize their mistake but unfortunately it was too late.
As Us Central Command reveales 7 terrorists, members of the infamous “Al Qaeda” structures have been killed.According to WBAL News, the militants were eliminated during a raid in Yemen led by elite Navy SEALs.
But Tuesday’s successful raid has its own consequences. Two American service members got wounded during the fighting. Luckily they were evacuated from the skirmish on time and are out of danger.
Operation’s main goal was disrupting Al Qaeda’s capabilities in the Arabian Peninsula. A Pentagon official named Capt. Jeff Davis explained that the target had been used by the enemy “as a headquarters, a place to meet and plan for external operations.”
The so called “external operations” are slowly but surely referred to as “terror attacks on the United States.”
“U.S. special operations forces have stepped up ground operations inside Yemen in recent months amid growing concern that AQAP continues to plan attacks on Western targets, including commercial aviation,” WBAL reported.
Central Command also elaborated on the operation.
“Raids such as this provide insight into AQAP’s disposition, capabilities and intentions, which will allow us to continue to pursue, disrupt, and degrade AQAP,” a CENTCOM News release explained.
Surprise was the mission’s key point as the opposing forces weren’t expecting the SEALs and had not anticipated a raid so deep into Al Qaeda territory. Capt. Davis told the media. According to Cnn and WBAL he also stated that the operation was “deepest we’ve ever gone into Yemen to fight AQA.”
While special operations personnel fought on the ground, a heavily armed AC-130 gunship provided air support.
The fight against radical jihadists may never be truly finished … but at least there are now seven fewer terrorists plotting harm against Americans.
